20 years of photography @ Venture
Experienced and passionate photography from Venture Studios…
Did you know that Venture Studios have now been established for over 20 years?
A lot can happen in 20 years! In some ways it feels just like yesterday, but when you think of some of the major events that have happened during that time, you do realise how long it is. Just a few to trigger your memory are:
- 9/11 in 2001
- The launch of Facebook in 2004
- The London bombings in 2005
- Apple released the iPhone in 2007
- The eruption of Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland, 2010
- The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, 2011
- The London Olympics 2012
- Poppy display at the Tower of London, 2014
- Grenfell Tower fire, 2017
These are only a small handful of events from these 20 years. It can be difficult to believe how long ago some of them are. Some are tragic, others revolutionary, and still others are causes to celebrate or remember.
All the above events have been captured in iconic photographs. Indeed a couple of them – the iPhone and Facebook – have also been major contributors to the growth of photography. Around 85% of all photographs are now taken on Smartphones; and 300 million photographs are uploaded to Facebook every single day!
None of this would have been conceivable 20 years ago, but is now an accepted part of our daily lives.
So much has changed for Venture Studios during this time as well. Over the past 20 years we have photographed over half a million families and created over 2.5 million items of framed art. We are accredited by the British Institute of Professional Photography and have also been recognised as Franchise of the Year by the British Franchise Association and been awarded Superbrand status.
What have been the changes in your life over the last 20 years? And what do you hope to happen for the next 20 years?
