Location Ideas for Extensive Family Photo Sessions
Indoor Locations – Your home is one of the best options here. Why? This is because you can move around furniture if required and all the people who live there (i.e. your family) will all be in the one place. With other indoor locations such as restaurants and shops etc., you would need to seek permission from the owners, have to research their copyright policies in terms of you using the images in certain places – plus you have other patrons of the establishment to consider. Outdoor Locations – Parks, forests, beaches and gardens are all very popular outdoor locations for all kinds of photoshoots and especially family photoshoots. The lush greenery, vibrant flowers and blue sky above all make for great, natural looking photos that are effortlessly picturesque. However outdoor locations are completely weather dependent for best results. Even if the weather is dry, a dull or overcast day is traditionally not ideal (unless of course you are looking for this type of weather and aesthetic specifically).
Weather and Light – As touched on above in terms of outdoor locations, the weather plays a big part in the conditions for all types of photoshoots. Even if you are choosing to have a family photoshoot at home, a very dark and rainy day will not give natural light and will mean you may not want any windows to be seen in the background.
