Top Ten Halloween Costumes
Yes it’s that time of year already: Halloween is almost upon us! Despite its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain – in which people lit bonfires and wore frightening costumes to keep ghosts away – it is now widely perceived as a time for family fun. Many people have Halloween parties, and groups of children can be seen going from door to door trick or treating.
So the big question is, what do you wear for Halloween? However old you are, many of us do like to dress up when we get the chance! Yet we don’t want to spend a small fortune on something that is “silly” and perhaps a one-off. So we’ve scoured the Internet for the clever ideas that took the world by storm last year, and produced a list of Top Ten ideas for cheap and cheerful Halloween costumes you could try this time.

- Cracked doll
Simple but so effective! It’s the make up that matters here. Simply paint a cobweb-style pattern across the face (probably eyebrow pencil or liquid eyeliner would do the trick) to create a cracked effect, then team it with any kind of old-fashioned frilly dress (try a charity shop!) and you’re all set!
