Top Tips for Creating Super Cool Pictures

1. SET THE MOOD
Getting all members in the picture looking super cool is all about setting the mood. Ask the group/individual to pretend they are their favourite rock or pop star and they are on a shoot for their next album cover! Getting people to pretend to be someone else releases inhibitions and can achieve great results!

2. ACCESSORISE!
Styling for these images is KING! Get a super smart outfit that you wear for special occasions and make sure you find all the accessories too; rings, bracelets, handbags, sunglasses, baseball caps… all the items that make the person in your picture feel like the king or queen. Detail is the key!

3. STRIKE A POSE
Get your people/person to sit with their back straight and put their chin up, these techniques can really add a sense of grandeur to the final image. Using a hair dryer to blow any long hair to get a sense of motion can look cool too.

4. GO WIDE!
Using wide angle techniques – get your model to hold a personal item or hand at the camera, you will find that their hand/item is super big in the image compared to their head, this technique is called wide angle. Wide angle can look super cool if you shoot down low next to someone’s foot and have the foot nearly touching the camera. This will add real drama to the end image… it’s all about having a go and experimenting!
