What to expect from a Venture Smash & Splash photoshoot?
- After you have purchased a voucher from our website. You will receive a discovery call from your chosen studio so we can find out about you & your baby and what you would like and tailor your experience accordingly.
- What happens on the day? No two babies (or cakes!) are the same – so neither are our cake smash photoshoots. We’ll capture those unforgettable, fun moments where your baby plays happily with their cake in their own world.
- Babies can vary widely in their reactions – and that’s just fine with us. Some love it and dive straight in…others need to be shown what to do & lend a helping hand. Whatever your baby does, our photographers will capture those special moments of icing-covered faces & hands, along with pure joy, smiles & laughter.
- You’re welcome to bring a change of outfits, personal items, blankets, toys or anything that you want to capture your baby & those exciting moments where your baby makes a massive cake smash mess.
- After your photoshoot, you will be invited back for a full cinematic viewing of your images. This is where you will choose your complimentary frame and have the option to purchase more, should you wish.
What size frame do I get with my baby photoshoot?
Can I order additional images and frames?
Yes absolutely! Our Cakesmash photoshoot experience includes one printed image with a hand made frame. Digital images are not included in this photoshoot experience, but are available in all studios, starting from £295 for four digital images. These are suitable for social media and printable up to 7” x 5”. At Venture, we specialise in transforming these memories into stunning wall art, bringing joy to your home every day. Our team will guide you through our curated range of options to help you find the perfect fit for your unique style and space.
Each studio has a wide selection of packages available to suit all budgets, which include both digital and framed images. Finance options are available.
Cake Smash Photoshoot Sessions
Celebrations come in all shapes and sizes, and what better way to capture your baby’s 1st birthday than with a Smash and Splash photoshoot at your local Venture Studios? Our highly trained photographers know just how to capture those split-second moments where your baby is let loose to have as much fun as possible and make as much mess as they can with a birthday smash cake session.
Our relaxed and laid-back studios have plenty of space for your baby to sit, stand and crawl around, so you can enjoy yourself watching your little one create as much cake chaos as they can.
The experience doesn’t end there. Once the cake has been smashed and thoroughly enjoyed, your little one will move on to a fun and gentle splash in a mini tub. This part of the session is perfect for washing away the mess while capturing even more adorable, playful moments as they splash, giggle and enjoy the water.
The studios are warm and inviting with soft lighting, allowing our expert photographers to capture your baby truly having the time of their lives, and with Venture Studios around the UK, you’ll find one near you.

Smash & Splash Photography Package FAQ’s
My baby has older siblings, can they come as well to the cake smash?
Yes – we welcome the whole family including the family pet! Our studios are equipped to take up to 15 people in most cases. Everyone can join in with the fun, as well as capturing individual photos of your baby’s cake smash fun.
My child is really shy, I don’t think they would enjoy the cake smash photoshoot and we wouldn’t get any images.
Venture has years and years of experience working with children of all ages and we love to capture all the different characters from exuberant children to the little wall flowers. We are experts at bringing their personalities out – you’d be amazed at how much fun a cake smash can bring! Most customers have apprehension about bringing children whether they are a bit too giddy or a bit shy and like to hide. We pride ourselves on families walking out of the studio amazed at how the photographers have teased out their child’s character and captured such beautiful images.
Do you provide the props/outfits for the cake smash?
Here at Venture Studios, we want to tell YOUR story, and the best way to do this is with your own personal items from home. During your fire-up call your photographer will ask many questions all about YOU and your family’s likes, dislikes, hobbies, personality traits etc and advise you on the things to bring to personalise your photoshoot. Check out our gallery to see what previous customers have brought along with them. For a cake smash, getting messy is the fun part – so we recommend bringing clothes you don’t mind getting covered in cake and a change of clothes for afterwards.
Some studios also have limited amounts of props available however you will need to discuss this with your photographer prior to the photoshoot.
